Ferro-Alloys are used in the steel-making for deoxidation, control of grain size, improvement of mechanical properties, imparting corrosion resistance. Important Ferro-Alloys are Ferro-Manganese, Ferro-Silicon, Silico-Manganese and Ferro-chrome. There are about 67 units producing different alloys. Now there are only 37 units with a capacity of 11.03 lakh tons are operating. Some of the producers are:

1.  Ferro Alloy Corporation, Andhra Pradesh.
2.  Navbharat Ferro Alloys, Andhra Pradesh.
3.  VBC Ferro Alloys, Andhra Pradesh.
4.  Maharashtra Electrosmelt Limited, Maharashtra.
5.  Sandic Manganese and Iron Ore Ltd., Karnataka.
6.  GMR Vasavi, Andhra Pradesh.
7.  ISPAT Alloys, Orrissa.
8.  Indian Metals and Ferro-Alloys Ltd., Orissa.
9.  Hira Ferro Alloys, Orissa.
10. Visvesaraya Iron and Steel Ltd., Karnataka.
11. Tata Iron and Steel Company, Bihar.
12. Jindal Strips, A.P., Orissa.
13. IDC of Orissa, Orissa.
