SAIL MARKETING NETWORK
All SAIL products excluding Special Steels
of SSP & ASP are marketed through its Central Marketing Organisation (CMO) which
caters to the domestic market. To ensure quality and prompt despatch of products, CMO
keeps in close touch with the producing units as well as with the transport and shipping
sectors. CMO with its headquarters in Kolkata operates through an expanding network of 47
stockyards, and 43 branch sales offices. CMO has capacity of selling about 8 to 9 million
tonnes of steel.

International Trade Division:
ITD, with its headquarters in New Delhi, looks after all exports,
maintaining close liaison with buyers abroad. This division ensures the continuous
presence of high quality SAIL products in the international market. During 1997-98, ITD
achieved over one million tonnes export.

Alloy, Special and Stainless Steel products are marketed directly by the producing plants ASP, SSP. A separate marketing network exists for both plants.
